QUESTION TIME

If the world was ending and you could only take 3 games with you, what would they be and why?

For me it’d probably be :

Spelunky
Dwarf Fortress
Probably a good racing game, if I’m gonna be stuck with these games forever, I don’t want it to be something that’s the same every time but I do crave a racer every now and again.

Well I’ve told you already, but why the hell not :p

Games with replayability! All of the following games have randomly generated worlds in which you play.

    1) Civilization IV. I’d need a lot of practice before I can play 1500-turn games in a few hours like the experts, and and win the game at Deity level. There are 9 difficulty levels in Civilization IV: Settler, Chieftain, Warlord, Noble, Prince, Monarch, Emperor, Immortal, and Deity. I can win games at Warlord/Noble, but I sometimes lose those games as well.

    2) Dwarf Fortress. I can get completely absorbed by it, and playing it requires creativity. I love creating systems and then optimising them. This game lets me do that. And I haven’t even gotten to the point where you get the economy!

    3) OpenTTD. I used to play Transport Tycoon for hours on end. For a little more variety, it’d have to be OpenTTD with a bunch of graphics packs thrown in. I like this for the same reasons why I like DF, you build a system and then you optimize it. That’s the challenge for me. I disable AI opponents because they make ugly, inefficient systems, not because they make it slightly harder for me. Making money follows automatically from a good system, so that’s not the challenge either.
