First of May!

First of May, first of May, outdoor… Ahem, right.

Nothing much happened recently. Emmy’s finally no longer on heat, but Bella is. She was 10 in March, how can she still manage it! She’s being a right pain with it anyway, I hope that when she’s gone, none of the other dogs come on, because I would like to be able to take them for a walk some time this summer.

I found a dip-pen downstairs and a little bottle of ink, (Sheaffer Peacock Blue, it’s a pretty colour) the nib is rusty, but it writes ok, and the pen is glass, so I might buy a couple more nibs for it.  Have had a couple of days fun playing with it anyway.

Think I’ve almost finished the Vatta’s War set (What’s published, anyway) ordered the last one earlier, I guess once I’m done with that I’ll have to see what else she’s written. I really need a new bookcase in here…

Been trying to spend more time downstairs, if I don’t it basically becomes somewhere to walk through, and only the dogs do anything down there. Set up the computer on the big telly and stuff, ordered a game controller and then spent two days trying to find drivers for it. (These are the only ones that worked, original xbox controller and Windows 7) XBCD was useless. At leas the xbox to USB cable I spliced together a while ago works. (I previously got a controller for £1 at a carboot but it was broken)

Ragnarok Online is now free, I downloaded it and took a look around… It was depressing, nobody I knew was still there that I could see (Just checked again, nothin) I don’t know what I was expecting, nothing really I guess. In my head it’s like he’s not really dead, he’s just gonna log on and be like, “hi, sorry I wasn’t around” or something. I know it’s stupid. I miss him every day…

Made some biscuits earlier, they’re not bad. Lent’s over, I can eat chcolate again I guess, not that I was doing it for lent but it was around the same time. I had some hot chocolate and white-chocolate biscuits, but I think I’m gonna keep not eating it, it just annoys me. Terence bought me some beeswax banana hand-cream (not what I’d normally go for but it is nice) and a box of chocolate seashells for my birthday, and we’re working on getting a greenhouse.

Things are ok!

day 15 – a song that describes me

I don’t think any song can “describe me” and it’s a confusing question. Describe me how? Anyway, this is Vast – My TV and You, because I like it and because I spend a lot of time staring at my screen, although I rarely watch actual TV. I did hook the computer in the living room up to the telly on Saturday though, mum was impressed!

Terence was here from Friday to Sunday, Saturday we went to Toys’r’Us, then food at Ikea and a wander around Marks and Spencers, Sunday we went to Grandma and Granddads and I played Pokemon with Jonty (And let him win a battle, eventually, after I’d neutered my team so they were 10 levels below his and 4vs6 :p)

Jenny apparently has a new Rabbit, she had to surrender the last one to the vet…

I did a trialpay thingy and got Trillian Pro for 99p via snapfish, I expect to have the contents of my “random pictures” folder arrive in the mail from Snapfish some time soon too. I ordered photos properly off them before but they arrived as much awful quality that it put me off ever doing it again. (The colour balance was all off, despite it being fine in the original pictures they were all dark and murky)

Reinstalled Trillian anyway and the thing I wanted now works but… It feels like I’m using an older version than what I was, it keeps bugging out now and tabbing windows won’t work. Oh well, I think I moved onto a beta version by accident. Typing wakeupvisi into an IM window at me now sets off my alarm, should be interesting. xD

Taking Emmy to the groomers tomorrow, she’s getting matted on her stomach. Oh and I painted the front gate when I got home from college today, it’s now stained “dark oak” I didn’t realise until I opened the tin, I thought I’d bought “fresh pine” or something, but it looks ok. Gonna go back and buy a bigger tin, do the chicken coop and the shed and the bench, any colour is better than ginger.

Day 08

day 08 – a song that you know all the words to

Cake : Comfort Eagle

Saw somebody with a couple of lyrics captioning their avatar on SA, wanted to know what it was and ended up with that.

Noticed that I could fit the chicken house onto the patio and it’d be much easier to get to and stuff, so I did that. Tied the door open with a piece of string but after I’d put them to bed the string was just loose. Emmy attempted to steal it, grabbing it, running away and then jerking to a half as the slack ran out.

Played more Pokemon and generally did very little today that I can remember.

Rewrote the list. Also, pokemon.

day 07 – a song that reminds me of a certain event:

I’m sure I did this one yesterday and I can’t think of anything other than the music for the journey to Viridian city. In fact, that whole playlist is just awesome, White is good but the music can’t compare. Here, I’ll just leave this here.

I think I’ll rewrite the list, some of them overlap and some of them don’t apply. I don’t have particular songs in mind for these yet, they just seem like good options. (Italics are ones I changed) (Spoilered because it’s kinda long) (Also, put your own songs in the comments! It’s lonely in here :( )

With that done, todays is actually day 07 – a song that changed the way I view music

This song. Explosions In The Sky – Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean. I was reading some music thread and somebody mentioned Explosions in the Sky and God is an Astronaut, I youtubed it and this came up, and something in my brain clicked. I just got it. Before that I couldn’t listen to anything like that, I just waited for lyrics and it annoyed me, but that song changed everything.

Downloaded and watched the first episode of The Walking Dead, I like it! Emmy also ate my pendrive and I almost bought a Protomen shirt but I’m resistin- Oh fuck it I’ll buy it. There I- Oh for fucks sake, why is it sending it to the old address, the address that shouldn’t even be on it’s records anymore. I find it hilarious that it forced me to write the contact message in all caps though.

Back to playing Pokemon!

Cage – I don’t know why I titled this “Cage” I looked and there it was.

Almond cake was awesome, Emmy is silly, the flower is from a thing I got for christmas, you put the tea ball into the hot water and it blooms into a flower, and the random picture of the ceiling, I dunno where that came from but it’d make a nice wallpaper.

Christmas is coming!

Lots of things have been arriving. Today arrived something mum refuses to disclose, some tea I bought for myself (Happy early Christmas, me!) and a bright pink, glitter covered two headed resin dragon I got for Jenny. Oh and some bath goo for Johnty! I’d love this stuff if we still had a bath. Hopefully he reacts better to it than he did the lego helicopter we got him last year. Which was greeted with “That’s boring, I don’t want that *tosses it down*”

I kept it and built it myself. :( How can anyone be bored with lego!

Bought mum a teapot but it hasn’t arrived yet… Got grandma a mug with “THE BEST GRANDMA” and some words on it, she’ll like that. No idea what to buy granddad so I’ve given up.

All the ice has melted, which I’m kinda relived about. It would have been ok if it’d kept snowing, but instead if just snowed a little, then melted and froze into a slide. I managed to slip twice even in my awesome boots.

Still hanging out on Die2Nite, should be doing homework.

Wondering if I should be joining in the protests. I went to a little one in St.Helens but it was sparse. Cutting EMA is the worst, EMA was one of the few things that kept me going into college when I was doing my GCSEs again.

Oh well.

First spam comment!

Just got my first spam comment since I installed the captcha.

Found three eggs in the nestbox the other day. Not sure but I think Henrietta may have laid two, also found a shellless egg in the house, so maybe Abigail is working herself up to it.

Moved the chicken house yesterday so it’s facing the path, and I don’t have to go onto the mud three times a day to open/close/check it. Gotta finish tidying up the garden for winter at some point, although I did a bit yesterday. I took the garden bench apart a while ago and put it in the shed, gonna sand it and paint it come spring, as the chickens took to using it as a roost.

I like how the little bedroom looks when all the sawdust is new and clean, like a rabbit hutch! Apparently you can’t really keep chickens in with rabbits, and I think the dogs would have a bit much fun with it.

I looked out the window yesterday and Emmy was having it off with one of the chickens, who, strangely enough, didn’t seem to mind. The other chickens were just watching. They get nervous around the other dogs, but I think they’ve realised Emmy is pretty harmless. She went into heat a few weeks ago and I think it’s still wearing off. Took her to the vet and got her boosters done, dunno if I mentioned that. I probably did. Sophie should be due soon enough.

Website is paid up for another year, Henrietta missed an egg the other day, the college course is lots of fun and when I came home on Thursday I was greeted by a labrador. It charged out of the front room and barrelled into me, trying to wash my face like it’d known me all it’s life.

Apparently some guy had turned up on the doorstep with an “I found this tied up down the street, you want?” excuse, so mum took it. It was a lovely dog around people, friendly and cuddly and kept trying to climb onto my lap and roll over. She was just waiting for the dog warden to arrive when I got home.

Dog was seriously hungry and skinny though, and, so we found out, she didn’t get on well with the other dogs. They were all locked in the kitchen but started fighting between themselves, I went in to break it up and Labrador managed to follow me. She picked Emmy up in her mouth and shook her like a rabbit, I thought she was dead.

It was scary. Labrador stopped shaking her when I shouted at her and dragged her off, but I honestly thought Emmy was going to be killed.

It’s funny, when we got Emmy I really, really hated her. I hated her so much, she’d come on such a stupid day and she was such a hassle, like having a baby around. Had to wash her face after she’d eaten and lift her back into the sleeping-box and everything. But now, she’s my dog, all fluffy fur and cowboy boots, she sleeps under my arm at night if it’s cold. I was never mean to her or anything even though I hated her, she was just a puppy, it wasn’t her fault, but I guess I resented it a lot at the time.

She was just a bit bruised, though, no blood and nothing broken, and two days later she’s still a bit quiet but fine apart from that. I’m glad she’s ok. It does appear to have sent her into heat though. Time to put the dark sheets on the bed.

Two years in this house today.

We’ve had Emmy one year today.

Onni’s been gone one year today.

I miss you, Onni. :(

Oh well

Emmy (I think) killed Baby Peep Peep, no marks on her except for a few lost feathers and her neck wasn’t broken. I think she just worried her until she died.

I’d noticed earlier on that Peep Pee wasn’t going around with the flock, she was just sitting on the compost heap by herself and sleeping. I fed her a little bit of wormer and she didn’t struggle when I picked her up. She wasn’t growing at the same rate as the others or putting on any weight either. (As a comparison, it takes me at least 5 minutes to catch the other two if I want to look at them or anything, and then they scream and struggle and try and flap their wings)

One of the dogs bought her up and left her on the landing for us to find. When Lucy killed the hamster she laid it out neatly in the dogs bed so it could have been her I suppose, but I don’t think so.

The chickens have free roam of the garden at the moment, the big two protect the little two and Emmy can’t really get near them, when they see her they all rush to the compost heap and wait until she goes away. Henrietta and Hermia stand on top of the chicks until it’s safe again.

Emmy did come in with an egg in her mouth yesterday, I extracted it and put it in the egg box, unbroken. I also extracted the unbroken fledgling and set it free in the garden, twice. Third time the chickens killed it I think. Pickle also bought me an unbroken bird, that one went to the RSPCA (Was before Emmy, but I didn’t feel safe setting it free in the garden) She came up to me in the garden with it in her mouth and went “moewph?” and then tried to run away, I thought it was dead but when I caught her she dropped it and it ran off.

It’s been an interesting couple of days.
